First PTO Meeting, August 18

The first PTO meeting of the year will take place on Tuesday, August 18. This will be a great opportunity to learn about how the PTO plans to support Waltrip this year and provide your input.

Advanced Placement Session Thursday

Waltrip AP families are invited to an informational session with AP faculty this Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 PM in the Waltrip Auditorium. All parents/guardians of students in an AP course are required to sign a contract covering AP policies, course expectations, and HISD/College Board guidelines on AI use. Signed forms are available from AP teachers and can be returned by your child if you’re unable to attend. A signature is required for students to continue in their AP course this year.

Heads up, Ram families! Waltrip administration has posted the 2026-2027 Dress Code& Bell Schedule on ParentSquare. If you’re not set up with ParentSquare yet, now’s the time — it’s the main communication method the school will be using for important updates all year long.

Rambotics: Mall of America

Waltrip Rambotics hit the road to Minnesota this past weekend to compete at the VEX Mall of America Signature Event! The team took on strong competition, tested their newest robot design, and gained valuable experience on a big stage. Between matches, they connected with teams from across the country, checked out new designs and strategies, and brought home plenty of ideas for what comes next. Way to go, Waltrip Rambotics!

The Waltrip Class of 2027 gathered at sunrise to kick off their last first day of school. Senior Sunrise is organized and funded by the Waltrip PTO, with input from Class Officers. It gives seniors a special moment together before the school year gets underway. This is just one of many events PTO membership makes possible throughout the year. Student Cross Country Meeting Tomorrow

Any students interested in participating in cross country at Waltrip are invited to attend an interest meeting tomorrow—Wednesday, August 12th after school at 4:10pm.

Band Parent Meeting & Sports Physicals

Join the Waltrip Ram Band Booster Club for its Band Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at 5:30 PM in the Band Room. Sports physicals will follow at 6:30 PM ($35, cash or card) and are required before the first football game — don’t wait to get this checked off your list!

Rambling Roses Dance Team Auditions Next Week

Rambling Roses auditions run Monday through Wednesday, August 17-19, from 4:15-5:30 PM in the Dance Room (1521). Monday covers Dance 1, Tuesday is Stand Dance, and Wednesday is auditions. Dress comfortably, bring water, and come ready to let your creativity shine!
