PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization.  The mission of the Waltrip PTO is to coordinate efforts to bring a closer relationship between home and school so parents, guardians and teachers can cooperate in the education of Waltrip students. Meet our Board.

The Waltrip PTO supports students and staff through teacher grants, staff appreciation, campus improvements, direct student support, and programs that strengthen our school community. From providing classroom resources and recognizing our incredible educators to funding campus enhancements and student initiatives, every dollar raised goes directly back to Waltrip.

Over the past two years, we’ve funded major campus improvements—including $35,000 for gym bleacher repairs, bilingual wayfinding signage, murals, shared campus equipment, and revitalized tennis courts. During the 2025–2026 school year, we also launched monthly Ram Festivals to build school spirit and established the Waltrip PTO Senior Scholarship Program, awarding $11,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in its inaugural year.

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we’re excited to continue investing in our students, supporting our teachers and staff, and creating meaningful opportunities that make Waltrip an even stronger community.

The PTO is an independent group whereas a PTA is a national organization.  We are a PTO and do not pay membership fees to any national organization.  All membership fees we collect go directly to the PTO and are used to support the school.

All parents, family, guardians, community members, teachers, staff, and students are welcomed and encouraged to join the Waltrip PTO.

Membership in the PTO helps Waltrip and its students.  Membership fees go directly to the PTO budget to support our school and therefore our students’ educational experience. 

You can join the PTO by choosing a membership level in our online store.

PTO meetings are typically held the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 6pm. Meetings will be held in the Waltrip Library.  Our meetings are open to all parents, guardians, students or teachers. Check our schedule on the events page!

The PTO has many volunteer opportunities with varying levels of time commitment throughout the year to fit all schedules.  Click here to fill and form to volunteer with our standing committees. Make sure you are VIPS approved!
