Dear Ram Community,
Today, we are incredibly proud to share a historic achievement for the Waltrip community: Waltrip High School is officially an “A” rated campus!
For the first time in our school’s history, Waltrip has earned the highest campus rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Waltrip also earned SIX Distinction Awards for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Post Academic Readiness AND Closing the Gaps. This milestone represents far more than a letter grade—it reflects the dedication, perseverance, and collective commitment of our students, staff, families, and entire community.
This achievement did not come easily. Our school community faced challenges and obstacles along the way, but we remained steadfast in our belief that every Waltrip student is capable of greatness. Our students continued to rise to the occasion, our teachers and staff worked tirelessly to support them, and our families and community stood alongside us every step of the way.
Today, we celebrate what is possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose and refuses to give up on its students. We are trailblazers. We are history makers. And this accomplishment belongs to all of us.
To our students, staff, families, alumni, and community partners: thank you for believing in Waltrip and for being part of this incredible journey! We are proud of how far we have come, excited about where we are going, and more committed than ever to building on this success.

JROTC Parent Meeting: 8/20
Waltrip JROTC parents are invited to a Parent Meeting this Thursday at 6:30 PM in the ROTC Room. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, connect with other families, and find out how you can get involved to support our cadets.
Football Season Community Kickoff
Join us as we officially kick off the 2026 football season on Tuesday, August 25th. Come say hello to the players, cheerleaders, band, and our mascot, RockSteady Russell.
The event will be held at Stomping Grounds at 6:00 PM. Grab a bite or a drink while you’re there — a portion of proceeds from Little Sister, Polish Bar, Cooking Girl, Bollo, Fat Cat, and La Mex will go directly back to the Waltrip Athletics Booster.

Mark your calendars for the season opener on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 PM at Delmar Stadium, where Waltrip takes on the Worthing Colts.
Open House 9/9
Save the date for Open House on September 9th from 6pm – 8:30pm.
Parents will walk their child’s schedule and are encouraged to attend the full session to allow enough time to visit all 8 classes.
The PTO Store will be open for spirit wear and membership purchases from 5-6pm.
Rambotics Club
There will be a mandatory Rambotics Club parent meeting on Wednesday, August 19 at 6pm. All parents of interested students are requested to attend.
Rambotics Club will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 4:30pm to build, learn, and compete together.
