Ram Band & Cheer Shine at IGA Fundraiser

Last Friday, Principal Randall and PTO reps joined the Ram Band and Waltrip Cheerleaders at the Imperial Guard Alumnae (IGA) annual Scholarship Fundraiser, honoring Mayor John Whitmire (Waltrip ’68). Huge thanks to Mayor Whitmire and the IGA for supporting our students—and for their recent, generous revamp of the Waltrip Community Room.

The IGA is a sisterhood of former members of Waltrip’s all-girl Imperial Guard (1960–1982) continuing their legacy through campus improvements and scholarships for Waltrip students.

Next PTO Meeting: 10/21

Join us on Tuesday, Oct 21 for a packed PTO meeting! The Waltrip Alumni Association will share their 50th Anniversary Cookbook (just $20 to raise money for Waltrip scholarships) and—fingers crossed—bring samples from the book. Lifesavers ER (3820 N Shepherd), our newest Community Partner, will stop by with treats and details on internships for HOSA students, CPR classes for kids, and hydration/first-aid support for our teams. We’ll also welcome Councilmember Abbie Kamin as our guest speaker.

Campus Cleanup: Saturday, Oct 25

Ram Nation, please join us for a campus work day on 10/25 to spruce up our tennis courts. The courts received repairs from the Houston Spark Park Association earlier this year and are now ready for some upkeep to keep them in great shape. Please bring garden gloves, pruning shears and rubber gloves if you have them!

The Waltrip PTO will provide snacks and water for all volunteers.

Jazz on 34th: Annual Fundraiser Benefiting Waltrip High School

The 3rd annual Waltrip PTO fundraiser will be held on Thursday, November 6th at Trees for Houston (across the street from Waltrip).

The event raises money that benefits our entire school and includes live music by our very own Waltrip Ram Band Jazz@1900 Big Band and the Waltrip Jazz II Band!

Host a Social! One fundraising aspect of the event is socials – fun and unique gatherings that bring our Waltrip community together.  Do you have an idea for a social or want to host one? Let us know by filling out our form!

Be a Jazz on 34th Sponsor! Everything you give goes directly to helping Waltrip students, teachers, school clubs, and campus improvements.

It’s Not Too Late to Join the PTO!

Join the WHSPTO and make a difference! We organize student events like Senior Sunrise and Homecoming Dance, and fundraising events like Jazz on 34th and DJ Bingo Night. We also support staff with appreciation events and provide teacher grants.

As a Member, you can help shape these activities and support Ram Nation. Join today and be a part of something great!

School Store Seeking Volunteers

The PTO School Store continues to be a hit with students during lunch! We’re looking for volunteers who can spare just one hour to help keep snacks and drinks available. VIPS approval required – please consider signing up to support our students!
