Waltrip High School does not require uniforms. Students may wear free dress but are expected to follow the Waltrip High School student dress code while on campus. The dress code is designed to maintain a safe learning environment and reduce distractions.

- ID Badges: Students must wear their school-issued ID badge on a lanyard around their neck at all times while on campus.
- Shirts: Shirts must have sleeves, cover the top of pants, shorts or skirts, and completely cover the midriff. Crop tops, strapless shirts, spaghetti straps and low-cut shirts are not permitted.
- Pants, Shorts & Skirts: Bottoms must fit appropriately at the waist. Shorts and skirts must be arm-length or longer. Leggings are permitted when paired with a top that covers the student’s backside. Sagging pants and exposed skin above the knee from holes or rips are not permitted.
- Shoes: Students must wear shoes with a back. Crocs must be worn with the back strap in place. Birkenstock-style hard-soled strap sandals are permitted. Flip-flops, slides, house slippers and other open-toe shoes are not permitted.
- Hoodies & Accessories: Hoodies may be worn, but hoods must remain down. Hats, caps, bandanas, skull caps, do-rags, sleep bonnets and other head coverings may not be worn on campus. Sunglasses are not permitted inside the building.
- Backpacks: Waltrip High School does not have a clear or mesh backpack policy. Students may use regular backpacks on campus.
- Other Requirements: Undergarments may not be visible. Pajamas are not permitted unless specifically allowed for a designated school spirit or special event day. Clothing and accessories may not display vulgar, obscene, inappropriate or illegal content.
