Ram Fest – Go Texan Day 2/27

GO TEXAN DAY Ram Fest will be held next Friday during lunch!

Students will enjoy a mechanical bull, petting zoo, a stilt walker and live DJ.

As usual, food and drink will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit WHS clubs and organizations.

Seeking PTO Board Nominations

We are currently taking nominations for the 2026 – 2027 Waltrip PTO Board.  If you’re interested in serving on the board or nominating someone, please submit this form.

Waltrip Drone Teams Success

Waltrip’s RamNautics and CrimsonFlyers drone teams made serious waves at this season’s REC Drone Competition. Both advanced to the quarterfinals, showing grit, precision, and strong teamwork throughout the event.

RamNautics earned the prestigious Communication Mission Champion award, recognizing their organized, systematic, and professional approach to written and verbal communication during their team interview and competition logbook review.

It’s a proud moment for our students and another exciting step forward for Waltrip’s growing drone program.

Project Prom Seeking Donations

Last year Project Prom Houston helped Waltrip, Heights, Northside and Sam Houston seniors look their best for prom. The goal this year is to add two more HISD high schools to the event this year, including Scarborough. To make this happen, the following donations are needed:

• Formal Dresses (short or long, like new, clean, and no rips)
• Special event jewelry and hair accessories
• Ladies dress shoes
• Men’s Tuxedos
• Men’s white tux or dress shirts
• Men’s dress shoes

Donations may be dropped off at the following locations during normal business hours:

• Bungalow Blue Boutique: 1331 Yale St.
• Frankie + Flora: 2015 W. 34th St.
• Heights Discount: 5206 Main St.
