Football Parent & Player Meeting
All new and returning players and their parents are requested to attend a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14, at 6pm in the library.
The meeting will cover expectations, season overview, important dates, fundraising goals, and much more.
Student athletes are expected to attend.
Field Cleanup, This Saturday
Please consider coming out to help with a field clean up day this Saturday, May 16th from 8am to 12pm. A volunteer signup will be coming soon. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
Rambotics Makes Waves
Rambotics competed at the MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education) ROV Competition. Students designed, built, and piloted underwater ROVs through real-world marine missions, navigating only through live camera feeds on monitors. The team brought home 2nd Place in the Ranger Division—the highest division at the Texas event. Congrats, Rambotics!
Lotería Community Event
Mark your calendars! The PTO is hosting a FREE Lotería (Bingo) Night on May 23 from 4–6 PM at Waltrip. All families are welcome to play, win prizes, and enjoy free food. Come connect with your community — it’s going to be a great time!
Waltrip Rambotics Open House 5/19
Calling all incoming WHS students interested in robotics, drones, coding, media, or engineering—join Rambotics HTX for an Open House on Tuesday, May 19 from 6:00–8:00 PM at Waltrip High School (Entrance through Door 18).
Meet the team, see robots and drones in action, and learn how you can get involved in everything from engineering and programming to media, branding, and competition.
Football Booster Fundraiser 5/21
Support the Waltrip Rams football team at a spirit night fundraiser – May 21st at Stomping Grounds.
Grab dinner/dessert at La Mex, Cooking Girl, Bollo, or Fat Cat Creamery – a portion of the sales will benefit the football booster club.
Join them to celebrate the season with great food and great community. Go Rams!

Sports Physicals: 5/19
Sports physicals for the 2026-2027 school year will be offered at Waltrip on May 19 from 3:30 – 5PM.
All students must have a current sports physical on file before participating in practices or competition.
Spring Sports Awards Ceremony – New Date!
Waltrip’s Spring Sports Awards Ceremony has been rescheduled for May 22. It will take place at 6pm in the cafeteria.
Summer SAC Camp
All HISD students in grades 6-12 are invited to attend Strength and Conditioning Camp (SAC) at Waltrip this summer.
SAC Camp will take place Monday through Thursday, from June 15th through July 16th (Off days: June 19th & July 1st – 3rd.
