After over a year of fundraising and hard work, the Waltrip Ram Band hit the road to New Orleans over the winter break for an unforgettable experience—and they brought home the title of Sugar Bowl Sweepstakes Grand Champion!

Marching through the streets of New Orleans, the band wowed crowds with their incredible performances, showcasing the dedication and passion that defined their 2024 UIL marching show.

The Ram Band, Waltrip High School, and the PTO would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community for your generous donations and unwavering support, which made this trip possible. A special thank you goes to Principal Cortez, the parent chaperones, and the HISD Officers who traveled with our students and made sure they were safe and well cared for throughout this journey.

Congratulations to our talented Ram Band Directors and Students on this outstanding accomplishment!

Teachers, make sure to apply ASAP! The Waltrip PTO’s Teacher Grant Program is offering up to $300 for special programs, projects, items, or events that benefit individual classes, teachers, students, and the entire Waltrip High School community. The Spring deadline in January 21st.

Volunteers are needed for the PTO School Store! The store raises much-needed funds for our school, but we can’t stay open without volunteers. If you’re VIPS approved, please sign up for a spot and help support Waltrip! Your time makes a big difference!
