Lady Rams Softball Dominate District—Headed to Playoffs!
The Waltrip Lady Rams are your UNDEFEATED 2025 HISD District 21-5A Varsity Softball Champions! On April 16th, they crushed Sterling High School 16–0 to clinch the district title.
Next up: playoffs! Come out and cheer them on as they face the Randle Lions (Richmond, TX) in the first round of playoffs this Thursday, April 24 at Cypress Lakes High School at 6:30 PM.

Waltrip Wish Wall: Your Support = Real Impact
There are still open items on the Waltrip Wish Wall —and every single one will make a big impact for our students! From new softball bleachers and band hall upgrades to classroom tech, Robotics computers, campus upgrades, and more, these wishes will touch so many kids across our school.

Rambotics Takes 4th at Texas Regional Botball Tournament!


Congratulations to Waltrip’s Rambotics Botball Team #0137 for earning 4th place overall at the Texas Regional Botball Tournament! The team also brought home two special Judges’ Awards—one for an impressive season documentation average of 99.5%, and another for elegant programming. Shoutout to team members Haley Herrmann-Koen (aka Jello) – programmer, Veronica Fonseca (aka Kenny) – documenter, and Story Witherspoon (aka Kat) – engineer. Special thanks to Daniel Fitzpatrick for photography and Carmello Nutall for team support. Way to go, Rambots!
Exciting Season for Waltrip Dance: Final Performance & Rambling Roses Auditions


The Waltrip Dance Department is wrapping up the year in style and stepping right into next season’s excitement!
Mark your calendar for Dancer’s Wonderland, the final performance of the year, happening Thursday, May 9th at 7 PM in the Waltrip High School Auditorium. This spectacular show promises an entertaining night of talent and creativity you won’t want to miss!
Tickets are $7 for students/children and $10 for adults. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
Interested in joining the Rambling Roses Dance Team? Additional auditions will take place May 12–15 from 4:30–6:00 PM in the Waltrip Dance Room.
The Dance Clinic runs May 12–14, with auditions on May 15.
An informational parent meeting will be held May 14th at 6:00 PM.
Daily attendance is required for a successful audition. Dancers should dress comfortably and bring water.

Senior Class of 2025: Important Info for Friday, April 25th

Prom and senior events are fast approaching! Here’s everything you need to know for Friday, April 25th. Make sure all deadlines are met for a smooth and memorable senior experience!
Cap & Gown Panoramic Photo and Senior Breakfast:
- Seniors should arrive at school wearing their caps and gowns.
- Seniors MUST have their cap and gown by Friday morning to participate in the Spring Panoramic Photo.
- Afterward, head to the cafeteria for Senior Breakfast at 8:45am.
- Meet on the front porch at 8:20am for the Cap and Gown Panoramic Photo.
Cap and Gown Reminder:
- If you purchased your cap and gown BEFORE April 21 but didn’t pick it up in the auditorium, see Ms. Gatica TODAY!
- If you still haven’t ordered a cap and gown, go to the Dilly store/office ASAP to purchase one. We do NOT have any extras on campus. Here’s the address: 1221 Lumpkin, Houston, Texas 77043.

- Guest Tickets: Non-Waltrip guests need a completed guest permission form – these are due on Wednesday 4/23 by 4pm
- Valet Parking: Available at the hotel for your convenience for $15.
Epic Proportions: A Roman-Sized Comedy of Biblical Proportions!

Get ready for a night of laughter and entertainment as Epic Proportions, a hilarious Roman-sized comedy of biblical proportions, hits the Waltrip stage! Presented by the Waltrip Producers, this play promises to be a fun and unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Mark your calendars for April 24th, 2025, and join us for the night show at 5:30 p.m. in the Waltrip Auditorium.
Ticket prices are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. You can purchase your tickets during lunch, in room 1510, or from any drama student. Please note, tickets are cash-only, so be sure to bring your change.
Help Waltrip Students Solve Real-World Business Challenges

Waltrip is looking for volunteers to coach 9th grade students as they work on a Delta Airlines case challenge through Junior Achievement’s 3DE program. Just 1 to 2.5 hours of your time can make a big impact—no prep needed!
Coaches guide student teams by offering feedback and asking thoughtful questions. We’re especially seeking business professionals from all industries.
