Hello Waltrip families!
Welcome back to the 2024-25 school year!
Your Waltrip PTO has been hard at work over the summer getting ready for a great year for our students, teachers, and staff. We hit the ground running with Senior Sunrise and a welcome back breakfast for the staff on the first day of school!
Our mission is to enhance your student’s educational experience and support our staff through fundraising and volunteer efforts that touch all aspects of life at Waltrip. Last year, we were able to double our PTO membership, provide educational grants to teachers for classroom needs, bring joy to our staff with snack cart days and appreciation events, and organize fun and entertaining social events for the students (and parents!) We organized a campus cleanup over the summer, and we are constantly working to improve and rehabilitate our facilities through donation and volunteer efforts. Also, our class reps are already busy planning fundraising events to offset the cost of senior year expenses for each class.
This year, we are planning the Homecoming Dance, fun events around Go Texan Day, a Waltrip Community Picnic, a Spring social and so much more! Our two major fundraisers will be Jazz on 34th, and Waltrip DJ Bingo – these events are a great way for parents to come together as a community, socialize, and help raise money to boost the ability of the PTO to work for your students and the Waltrip family! We will also have a new central location for the School Store which will be selling snacks, drinks, and Waltrip gear throughout the year! Sign up to volunteer at the store and be a part of the action!
We need your help to accomplish our goals, so please consider joining the PTO, volunteering your time, or sharing your talents with us! We are so grateful for you!! We would love to see you at our next general meeting and Coffee With the Principal on August 20th.
Stay connected with us through our newsletter, Instagram, and Facebook. We can’t wait to see you out and about at all of the Waltrip events!
Thanks again for all that you do, and GO RAMS!
